Early morning light and fall foliage make such a great backdrop and I was thrilled when an Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis) flew closer to me and allowed me to take advantage of the situation.
I love it when the composition is this basic and the results are simply beautiful.

Perfect! The colours of the bird are shown to perfection and you’ve a glorious catch light in the eye.
Thanks, Laura. It was a real bonus to get the catch light. This was a rare moment when everything seems to work together to help me get a beautiful shot.
Beautiful bird! You can see how soft it is!
Thanks, Carol. I love bluebirds, but only occasionally do I get a good look at one.
Sometimes the simplest things are the most beautiful.
Thanks, Charlie. I totally agree.

Waiting for the bluebirds to arrive in the desert.
They really are beautiful little birds. I wish I’d see more of them.
A beautiful scene you captured very well.
On the Facebook site for the park where I took this photo, this has turned out to be one of my most-liked photos ever. I am thrilled with the way that the photo came out.
